A STRAVA SEGMENT RAID PRESENTED BY STANDERT BICYCLES AND SIX DAY BERLIN
The hunting season is on. It's always on. But this time we teamed up with one of the fastest guys on earth for a special challenge. Marcel Kalz, also known as Kalle, owns pretty much all important KOM's in the northern part of Berlin. That's where the track pro of the Maloja Pushbikers is training day in and day out. So we thought why not try to steal some of these KOM's from Kalle?
We knew this was easier said than done and the heavy rain and cold didn't make it any easier. Especially as the group got smaller because of the weather. But one important factor you can rely on was given: Kalle was there to help us.
On this ride we were tackeling a couple of Kalles favorite segments. First getting out of town, then getting some flats and then getting completely soaked. But this chouldn't stop us from hunting. But soon is was clear that Kalle is riding on a different level and left everybody far behind. Like this he defended all his KOM's and even took a new one over 2,1km averaging 47,6km/h.
WORK DONE, TIME TO WARM UP AGAIN
Time to get back to the shop and warm up with some Apple Pie Glühwiskey by Bulleit. While relaxing in the shop everybody had time to hang out and ask Kalle all the questions about living the pro life, how it is racing the Six Day in the new series format and taking some photos.
Down but not out we will do this again, in summer, with some more pro help. Max Beyer, Roger Kluge and Henning Bommel seemed really interessted in taking some KOM's of their friend Kalle.
