What is PC™?
Better bikes for smaller humans.
Project Compact™ is not a new model, it is our optimised geometry for the three smallest sizes we offer across all models (48, 50 and 52cm).
These bikes feature steeper seat angles and taller headtubes which, especially when combined with zero or minimal setback seatposts, makes it possible for smaller riders to sit less stretched out on their bike, without compromising the handling and stability of the bike through very short stems and reduced reach common on smaller sized frames.
But it doesn’t stop there. The positions facilitated by our Project Compact™ geometry are better both aerodynamically and biomechanically (and we think aesthetically too). The steeper angles mean riders sit further inside the reach, shifting the center of gravity towards the centre of the bike and creating a more compact position, reducing frontal drag. This position also opens the rider’s hip angle, increasing pedalling efficiency and power transfer.
The end result is a bike that handles better, is more comfortable, more efficient and looks more balanced.

Coke cans are out, hourglasses are in.
From a distance, you’d be forgiven for thinking round tubes still reign supreme here. But look a little closer… Thanks to custom engineered, cfd-optimised head-, top- and down-tubes, as well as seatstays, the new frame gains significant aerodynamic improvements. You’ll also find the headset bearings fully internal for max sleek and to eek out every last watt.
A fork that cuts air like a knife.
To match the hourglass headtube, we‘ve paired an aero-bladed carbon fork which not only ups aerodynamic performance, but ups tyre clearance to a generous 35mm.
Standium, our secret sauce
Standium!? Aluminium, meet Scandium: The rare earth element, now synonymous with Standert, is added to give the Kreissäge RS tubeset an otherwise impossible strength to thickness ratio. We call this Standium and it means thinner (read: lighter) tubes with a ride feel unmatched by Aluminium alone. Exclusive to Standert from Italian experts Dedacciai. Lighter, stiffer and rarer than regular aluminium for a ride feel you won’t find anywhere else. Leave your prejudices about harsh aluminium frames at the door.
Still Made In...
The Kreissäge RS has always been proudly manufactured and painted in Italy by some of the most experienced craftspeople in the business. We‘re proud of manufacturing our flagship in the EU, not just because it‘s totally romantic (and it really is), but because we believe in the quality and soul it gives these bikes.
Product FAQ
Made of Scandium? What exactly is it?
Scandium is a rare-earth element whose use is almost exclusively reserved for adding to Aluminium to form an alloy with incredible properties for building bike frames. Most notably, the addition of Scandium to Aluminium allows the production of tubes which are not only thinner (which means lighter), but are stronger than regular Aluminium. This miraculous alloy is what really sets the KREISSÄGE RS apart, and what we like to call STANDIUM.
What is the maximum tyre clearance?
The Kreissäge RS can handle tyres up to 35mm wide, as measured on your wheels (the printed widths can vary greatly depending on rim width etc.)
Where is this bike made?
Every single Kreissäge RS is both hand-made and painted by incredible craftspeople in Italy, before being assembled to your specification by our expert mechanics right here in Berlin.
What is included in the Frameset option?
In the box you will get the frame, fork, headset, headset expander, bottom bracket (of your choice), inlay set, thru-axles and a seat clamp. Plus any additional extras you select in the configurator.
Can I build my KREISSÄGE RS with mechanical groupsets?
This bike is compatible with electronic groupsets only. It does however play nicely with all major electronic options, both wired and wireless.
Which bottom bracket does it use?
It has a threaded T47 85.5mm bottom bracket (which means inboard bearings), providing not only a wider, stiffer platform but also maximum crankset compatibility. We offer options for all major crankset/axle combinations.
What if I can't find the exact parts I want to spec my bike with?
We've spend a long time carefully curating the available specs to best match the bike. We do of course always try our best to accomodate requests, so please get in touch at shop@standert.de to discuss your requirements.
What if the one I want is out of stock?
There's more on the way. Click the "Notify Me" button on the product page and sign up to be notified when it's back in stock!
It says Standium on my bike. What is that?
Standium is what we at Standert have dubbed the miracle alloy of Scandium and Aluminium that makes these bikes so special.
Does Standert offer bike insurance?
We've teamed up with LAKA to offer industry-leading insurance on your bike. Simply check the LAKA insurance box before adding your bike to the cart and complete your order as usual. LAKA will then get in touch to take care of the rest!
