What is PC™?

Better bikes for smaller humans.

Project Compact™ is not a new model, it is our optimised geometry for the three smallest sizes we offer across all models (48, 50 and 52cm).

These bikes feature steeper seat angles, taller headtubes and zero-offset seatposts, which makes it possible for smaller riders to sit less stretched out on their bike, without compromising the handling and stability of the bike through very short stems and reduced reach common on smaller sized frames.

But it doesn’t stop there. The positions facilitated by our Project Compact™ geometry are better both aerodynamically and biomechanically (and we think aesthetically too). The steeper angles mean riders sit further inside the reach, shifting the center of gravity towards the centre of the bike and creating a more compact position, reducing frontal drag. This position also opens the rider’s hip angle, increasing pedalling efficiency and power transfer.

The end result is a bike that handles better, is more comfortable, more efficient and looks more balanced.

Love Never Rusts

The magical ride quality and durability of steel is well known, and with Stainless Steel you can rest assured it will last a lifetime even if your maintenance regime leaves a little to be desired. We could go on, and on, and on… but the ERDGESCHOSS will do that anyway.

Steep and Snappy or Long and ‘Lax.

The ERDGESCHOSS frame is mated to Columbus‘ Cross+ carbon fork which offers adjustable rake. This means you can tune the handling of your bike depending on tyre size, heavy loads on the front wheel or simply personal preference. Go steeper for quicker handling or stretch the rake out for a more relaxed experience.

The light from within

Run your dynamo light system internally, through both fork and frame. It looks slick and keeps everything out of both harm’s way, and the way of any luggage you want to attach to your ERDGESCHOSS.

Do-it-all Dropouts

Compatibility, durability and adjustability are all maximised thanks to sliding dropouts and, for the first time on the ERDGESCHOSS, a UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger). Sliding dropouts allow you to make small tweaks to your wheelbase, run a single speed or hub-gear setup, or even fix the chain tension if your rear derailleur happened to fail in the middle of the desert.

Nothing to hide

When you’re off the beaten track, the best approach is usually K.I.S.S., keep it simple Standert. The ERDGESCHOSS retains external cabling up front, which means building and servicing is a breeze, it’s easy to dismantle your cockpit for travel, mechanical groupsets work flawlessly and you’ll never have to worry about cables binding.

King of the (off) Road

In the spirit of lasting for ever and ever, the ERDGESCHOSS comes with headsets from the legendary Chris King. They feature surgical-grade steel races and bearing tracks which get smoother with age, as well as full serviceability and precision adjustability, backed by their King lifetime warranty.

Keep Calm and Carry More

Long rides call for big bags and the ERDGESCHOSS is equipped to handle them all. That means mounting points for front and rear racks, bottle cage mounts on the seat and down tubes, as well as by the bottom bracket, and top tube mounts too.

Product FAQ

Do you ship internationally?

Absolutely. We can ship the ERDGESCHOSS almost anywhere in the world (framesets only to the USA, please be aware of tariffs and duties). Shipping rates are calculated live at checkout so you get the best possible rate from our premium delivery partners.

Can I use both 700c and 650b wheels?

Absolutely. The ERDGESCHOSS excels with either, just with slightly different maximum tyre clearance (54mm for 650b and 50mm for 700c). The front fork also offers adjustable rake so you can tune the handling for the wheel/tyre size you've chosen.

What is the Erdgeschoss made from?

The frame is made entirely of Stainless Steel. It's a magical material which offers incredible durability and corrosion resistance, with an easier maintenance schedule than regular Steel as well as a wonderful ride quality on every surface. The Columbus Cross+ fork is made of carbon fibre.

Can I fit pannier racks?

You certainly can. The ERDGESCHOSS has mounts on both the fork and rear triangle so you can mount racks on both ends.

Is the ERDGESCHOSS compatible with a dynamo lighting system?

Yes. The ERDGESCHOSS has internal light cable routing, both through the fork and frame, which provides complete protection for your system and won’t get in the way of any luggage.

What do I need to adjust the sliding rear drop outs?

You just need a T45 Torx key.

Does it come with a Chris King headset?

It sure does. The ERDGESCHOSS is fitted with the Chris King inSet 7 as standard.

Can the Erdgeschoss be run with internal brake/shift cabling?

We decided that simplicity and serviceability were paramount for the Erdgeschoss, so it retains external cabling between the handlebars and frame, but internal through the frame. Tried and true.

Can the Erdgeschoss be built with mechanical groupsets?

Yes! The ERDGESCHOSS is compatible with all disc brake groupsets, both mechanical and electronic, 1x and 2x. You can even run single speed if you want, thanks to the sliding dropouts.

What does the Erdgeschoss weigh?

The frame weighs 1980g (in size 54) and the uncut fork weighs 500g. Our complete bike offerings start at 9.4kg.

What is my size?

How are the brakes set up?

The bikes are shipped with the brakes set up Euro style: Front brake on left hand and rear brake on right hand. If you need it swapped, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

What is included in the frameset option?

The frameset includes frame, fork, headset, expander plug, thru-axles, all inlays (for mechanical and electronic groupsets), bottom bracket of your choice and a seatpost clamp.

How does my complete bike arrive?

Your bike is fully assembled and quality checked before shipping in our specially designed bike boxes. All you have to do is turn the handlebars, put the wheels on and set your saddle height. Add your own pedals and you're all set.
